I never thought I’d be in a position where I’d have to make one of these, but here we are!

I’m putting this GoFundMe together to help cover my medication costs for the next couple of months.

A few years ago, I got extremely sick. What started as something treatable turned into something I’ll be living with for the rest of my life. It affects everything: how I move, sleep, eat. My body is covered in lesions that crack and sting when I shift the wrong way. There are days when walking feels like dragging through mud, and nights when sleep doesn’t come because my skin feels too raw, nausea rocks my system, or my heart beats too hard.

Honestly, it's so difficult to explain what it’s like to be in a body that’s constantly fighting itself, but it sucks.

The medications I’m on help keep me functional, but, unfortunately, they cost an arm and a leg (almost $15,000 per dose) without insurance. I was lucky enough to get into a partial assistance program, but the out-of-pocket costs are still incredibly overwhelming. I’m in the middle of filing for disability, which means I don’t have steady income yet, and the bills don’t stop just because I’m in limbo.

Most of you know I’m an artist. I still take commissions when I can, and I love doing them! Art keeps me connected and makes me feel good! However, it’s gotten harder. Some days I can barely keep up, and staying awake long enough to finish a piece feels impossible. I still try, though! I'm just not as efficient as I'd like to be.

The money raised here will go toward paying down the medication balance first, and anything left will help with medical bills and food. This will give me a bit of breathing room so I can keep going.
