Gravy's FIP Battle: Your Help is Vital
Donation protected
Hello Everyone,
Gravy is our beloved friend who has already been with us through so many milestones in my young adult life. He is only 2 years old and means the world to us.
Gravy was born into an animal hoarding situation. We rescued Gravy from a a shelter in Pittsburgh when my fiancée and I were just two college students moving into our very first apartment. He instantly became part of our little family, bringing comfort, laughter, and so much love.
Our FIP journey began on March 7th, 2025. After about 2 weeks of lethargy, jaundice, a diminished appetite, and noticeable weight loss, we knew something was seriously wrong. Gravy was diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), a devastating disease that was once considered fatal. Fortunately, there is now a treatment — GS-441524 — but it's incredibly expensive to obtain in the United States.
We began GS treatment immediately, and Gravy responded incredibly well. He made it through the full 84 days of treatment with strength and courage, and we were hopeful. But just four days into the post-treatment “observation period,” Gravy relapsed. Our hearts sank.
Determined not to give up, we began another round of GS at a higher dose, guided by ongoing bloodwork and medical care. Between the cost of the GS drug, antibiotics, steroids, lab work, and countless vet visits, our expenses have climbed into the thousands.
That’s why I’m here — to ask for your help. Any amount you’re able to contribute will go directly toward Gravy’s continued care. We want nothing more than to see him thrive again and live a long, beautiful life with us and his cat sister, Cruella.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, love, and generosity.
