Gravestones for Fran, Hilda, and Phoebe

Our mothers/grandmothers/greatgrandmothers/great great grandmothers are buried in Greenfield Cemetery in Uniondale, NY.  For some unknown reason there were never any markings placed at the gravesite with their names. I believe that it's time that we, as a family, fix this oversight once and for all.   Since there is no room on the front or back of the headstone for any other names, footstones are placed where each of our loved ones are buried.  As you can see in the diagram, Phoebe would get her own foot stone, Nana Fran and Hilda would share a foot stone as they are buried on top of one another.  In order to do this we need affidavits granting permission from Scott Lefebvre and John Lynch which won't be a problem.  I contacted S&S Memorials in Uniondale and they provided an estimate for the memorials.  The memorials with each of our loved ones names, dates of birth and death and a floral border would cost $800 each.  There is an additional $506 fee per grave payable to the Town of Hempstead.  That brings the total to $2612.   I chose $2,800 as our goal for any unanticipated fees or expenses as well as to cover the gofundme fee.  There are 3 living children, about 26 living grandchildren and a number of greats.  In a perfect world if every child and grandchild gave $100 we would have it covered.  Obviously, no one is required to give and participation is optional.  Anticipating less than 100% participation, it would not hurt if some donated a little more than 100.  I know some of us could afford to pay the entire balance alone but the purpose is to try to get as many participants as possible.  If $100 is too much, donate what you can.  Every little bit will help.  If we don't reach our goal the first time around, we'll ask for a little extra from those who can.  The memorial company said that with the Covid backlog it could take as much as six months for the entire process.  If things were done by the late summer or fall, maybe we could invite everyone for a dedication with a priest and lunch or dinner as a group.  None of us are getting any younger and now we are seeing our siblings begin to pass away.  If we do not do this now, it will never get done.  Please make sure that this gets to every Lynch, Contreras, Bell.
