Zak’s 100 kilometre December Challenge to raise funds for a Polytunnel – Supporting Graven Hill Community Garden

Hello!

My name is Zak, and I’m 10 years old.

This December, I’m taking on a big challenge: walking 100 kilometres around Graven Hill to help raise money for something really important for my community — a polytunnel for the new Graven Hill Community Garden.

Why I’m Doing This

Our community is building a garden at Graven Hill Primary School so that children and families can learn, grow food, and enjoy nature together. One of the most important things we need is a large polytunnel, which costs over £5,000.

I’m autistic, and having a quiet, chilled-out green space at school would have made a huge difference for me. I really wish I had a community garden at the school I went to.

So I hope that autistic children and children with SEND at Graven Hill Primary will love having a peaceful, cosy place in nature where they can go when they need a break.

My Challenge

I’ll be walking 100 kilometres this December — that’s more than 2 miles every day, no matter the winter weather!

I’ll be sharing photos, updates, and my progress throughout the month so you can follow along.

My Fundraising Goal

I’m aiming to raise £1,000 to help pay for the polytunnel.

Every donation, big or small, will take us one step closer to giving the children at Graven Hill Primary an amazing space to learn, grow, and feel calm.

The garden is a new community-powered project bringing together residents of all ages to grow, learn, and thrive. Everyone is welcome — from preschool children to retirees.
