Gravely ill 93 year old Japanese painter in Spain needs help
Donation protected
My name is Eri Hiraoka and this concerns my uncle, Masaya Nishimoto, a master Japanese neo post-impressionist painter living in Spain for over 50 years. Now aged 93 and in failing health, Masaya's main passion in life has been his art. Sadly, he suffers from congestive heart failure, kidney disease and possibly prostate cancer. On April 17, he was discharged from hospital in Majorca to his home where he lives alone in poor conditions. Fortunately, he has some help from the local Red Cross who check in on him on weekdays.
But what Masaya needs is daily monitoring on a regular basis since he's no longer able to care for himself or even walk. Our family simply does not have the resources to go to Spain and take care of him long term. We visited him five months ago and made much progress improving his living conditions and medical care. But now he has taken a turn for the worse. In reality, Masaya needs to be admitted to a nursing home or hospice care.
We have been pursuing all possibilities with local social care programs, Red Cross assistance and volunteer groups who all have been extremely kind and helpful. But this is not enough.
If Masaya's cause touches your heart, please make a donation, any amount no matter how small will help.
Thank you for your help,
The family of Masaya Nishimoto
