My name is Dylan Baker and I have been racing bikes on the road and track since I was 12 years old.
Last year, I raced at my first Gravel World Championship in the Netherlands where I placed 18th in the 19-34 category. This year I made it a goal to qualify for the elite category, so back in April, my dad and I drove to Arkansas where I faced the hardest gravel race I’ve done so far. Despite a challenging course, I placed 3rd which qualified me for the Elite category where I’ll race against the best women in the world in Australia!
With my trip coming up quickly, I couldn’t be more excited. That being said, there are significant costs associated with these events like travel (with oversized baggage), accommodations, food, and more. Simply participating in them is expensive and self funded. I am a full time student at UWO studying Kinesiology, and while I also have a part time job, training and competing in an endurance sport like this doesn’t leave a lot of time to earn money.
Representing Canada is always a dream come true. I'm so grateful for everyone who has helped me get to this point—family, friends, coaches, teammates. If you're able to support me on this next step, I would be incredibly thankful.
My goal is to raise $3000 to help offset the cost of competing at the Gravel World Championships in Australia.
Thank you so much for reading and your support!
