Over three years ago, a single mom experienced the unthinkable tragedy of suddenly losing her three-month-old infant daughter to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

The baby girl was named Lily Jane and her mother is Emily Cupp.

Economically disadvantaged and also working to raise her young son, Emily did everything she could to barely pay for Lily Jane’s funeral. But when it came to the grave marker, Emily could not afford the additional funds.

Buried at Sunset Memorial Park, Lily Jane’s gravesite remains without a marker to this day.

Emily is now working as a full time student at Texas State and is earning a degree in social work, where she hopes to help disadvantaged children and parents who are enduring hard times like she has experienced in her young life.

I did not know of Emily or her baby Lily Jane until this situation was described to me by a friend.

Thus, I’m asking for a Christmas miracle for the baby who is now an angel in Heaven, Lily Jane and for her mother, Emily.

The cost of the grave marker is roughly $1700. Emily had paid $400 toward its purchase before her funds ran out. Since there are credit card and debit card processing fees involved with this fundraising, we are shooting for $1700 and will contribute any funds that may exceed the amount needed for the grave marker to Emily for use toward her college tuition.

I believe in miracles and I believe in angels. But I also believe that sometimes miracles manifest themselves and we are empowered to do the work of angels when we take action and help where we can.
