I want to take care of my Mom
Donation protected
My name is Jade McIntire, daughter of world renowned artist, Tina McIntire.
My Mom raised me alone, while courageously following a dream , after she conceived an original idea that led to the now called, "stained glass, free form style glass on glass mosaic."
After teaching everything she knew to people, from age 6 to adults at T.C.U. , she would later fall ill.
She was diagnosed with Marfans Syndrome and now, as with many Marfans, Hypermobility joint disorder has begun to attack both shoulders, knees and a foot.
An MRI revealed she has broken her tailbone off and suffers from Lower facett disease, missing 3 facett bones on each side of her spine, equaling 6 missing facett bones.
In November 2013, while shopping for her monthly supplies at Walmart,on a disability cart. The General Mgr. and a patron neglected to block the aisle when pushing off a boxed futon from an upper shelf. She never saw the heavy box coming, when it fell on her and the Roust about cart she was attempting to drive down the aisle threw her through the air , completely out of her shoes, found 30 yards away from where she was thrown. This tragic event broke her neck, leaving her 2" shorter in height, and suffering blunt head trauma. She suffered brain swelling, which caused her to lose her peripheral vision and depth perception. So at age 51, she lost her ability to drive and lost her short term memory.
Walmart denied the event occured. Though there were witnesses that saw it, no attorney will touch the case, due to the fact that Walmarts denial of the event , means they choose to go to court, because in our Country, they can outnumber, and overpower even the wealthiest. Legal firms. No one in the State of Texas will touch this case... because my Mom's health with these rare diseases, and peripheral Neuropathy, poly arthritis, the Attorneys say it will be in court for about a decade, and she may well pass away before its over. They realize also, it would be difficult to prove that this dreadful unjust accident was in fact responsible for her death. All attornies said her case has many merits.
My Mother moved out of her very small 2 bedroom house& studio prior to this event and insisted Me, her only child Jade McIntire Dove and my hardworking, uneducated husband and my 2 preschool children move into her home , for security and safety, wich our income would not allow.
THAT'S. THE KIND OF WOMAN SHE IS.
She now resides at her Mothers home, where my Grammy really needs someone to help take care of her. Its increasingly difficult for my Grandmother to care for her.
My Mom still has the desire and need to work on her bed, as she did for an Episode on HGTV'S CRAFTERS COAST TO COAST.
But we have no studio and whats worse, is i long to care for her the way shes always cared for me.
Weve spoken to Builders and Contractors about building onto my home, she selflessly gave to me.
We are consistently told the bare minimum it will cost us may as well be millions of dollars.
For the $25,000.00. Minimum amount to add onto my home, where I can care for her and we can hopefully even enjoy the art she accidentally invented over 20+ years ago. She worked until the terrible accident at Walmart. She was at the pinnacl e of her self made career when this occured.
We can not help ourselves, or I assure you she would have already found the way.
Please help me to help her.
