Gratitude for Grady: Help Heal from Gunshot
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Holly. I am starting this donation page on behalf of my dear friends, Lindsey, Ryan, their son, Baron, and their beloved fur-baby Grady.
They are currently faced with astronomical vet bills, and the need for 6-8 weeks of medication and supplies, while Grady recovers at home.
Any amount you can donate matters and is deeply appreciated!
Below are Lindsey's words on what happened to their sweet kitty and updates on his recovery process.
"Our sweet boy Grady (cat), who is only three years old, was shot on Saturday (4-16) by some sick individual. The bullet broke his pelvis and is still in his abdomen. Grady can’t walk but somehow managed to make it back home to our back deck. I have no idea how he managed even to do this.
He is at the UW Veterinary Clinic in intensive care. They aren’t electing to do surgery to fix his pelvis, or even remove the bullet, because they don’t think his ticker can handle it… I never thought in a million years that we would be willing to spend so much on a cat!!!! He’s our family, though and is Baron's best buddy. As far as Grady’s heart goes, they think he has some underlying heart disease (Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) or “broken heart syndrome” from all the trauma he endured. He is a fighter, though, and is eating, drinking, and able to go to the bathroom on his own!
They are saying he’s not ready to give up, and if this is the case, Grady will need to be crated for 6-8 weeks and on some heavy-duty pain meds three times per day. My BFF is a cat whisperer, a nurse, and she fosters kitties, so she will most likely be helping us with Grady’s recovery. I am so lucky to have her!!! Please, everyone, send positive thoughts and good vibes for Grady! He’s a rarity, this one ❤️❤️."
