ATV Accident…Medical-Bills

Hi, my name is Lawrence Sikorski and live in the Ft.Lauderdale area. I’m a father and share 50/50 custody of 3 amazing little girls. For work I’m a Self Employed personal trainer/group fitness instructor, as well as a Life Style/Fitness Model. I’ve worked in both professions for 20+yrs.

I’ll be honest, this is really hard for me to ask or to even speak about myself.

Recently I was involved in an ATV accident that punctured and collapsed my lung, with breaks to the front and back of 7 ribs. My neck is broken in 3 places and nerve damage down my neck shoulder and arm. My shoulder is separated, broken humorous, clavicle and broken thoracic

I felt I was doing better up until the severe heart and chest pains. After another emergency trip to the ER, I was readmitted for 6 days in cardiac care.  This was my 3 trip to the hospital and have spent almost 3 weeks in PCU or Cardiac Care.  The trauma to my chest damaged my heart and it’s currently working at 40% capacity. My blood pressure shot up to 197/129 and alerted the doctors to order more scans/tests…to which a blood clot has been revealed in my lung and is expected to take several months to get rid of.

My recovery from all the breaks, fractures and tears is expected to be 6-8months, not including any additional surgeries that may be required on my shoulder/neck/heart in the near future.  I’m on a ton of pain medications that help, but unfortunately due to my health restrictions and the med side effects, I can’t go back to my normal work activities

For the people who know me know that I hate showing weakness or being vulnerable asking for help, it’s just not who I am.  I love being the one to help and give to others.  I love being active and work extremely hard.  I love being an amazing Dad but… I’m getting my health-ass kicked!

I feel extremely stupid and frustrated for being in this position and truly sorry that I’m even putting this up, it’s not an easy thing for me to do. All of this has put so much stress and extra responsibilities on the people I love…to say I’m more than grateful and appreciated is an understatement.

The icing on the cake, I just found out my car is totaled from all the flooding in South Miami.  I just want to get better, but need the time and proper treatments to get there.  

As for the donations and what they will help with are; medical bills, healing, living expenses. Setting a “goal amount”, doesn't even feel ethical, as any amount received will help and be more than appreciated. Even if you can’t donate, prayers, likes, and shares are more than enough as well.  If I thought I was a humble person before, these last years have humbled my core.
