After an almost two-year battle with cancer, Grant passed away at his home on Friday, April 30th surrounded by his wife and fur babies. We will be holding a one-hour Celebration of Life in Bakersfield at Greenlawn Funeral Home Southwest (Panama Ln.) on Friday, May 21st at 1pm.
Anyone who knew Grant, knew that he was a genius mechanic, a talented crane operator, and had an uncanny ability to fix almost anything. He made friends easily and never hesitated to support those he loved--as many of you reading this can personally attest to. His loss is felt deeply by his human and K-9 family, and the many, many friends he made in his life.
His wife served as his loving and patient caretaker for the duration of his illness, for which the rest of our family is profoundly grateful. And as you can imagine, without their regular income during this time, finances became increasingly difficult. Thanks to the support of family, and many of you, they were able to squeak by, but not able to save for funeral expenses and life's ongoing necessities. It's humbling to come to you and ask for any support you can provide to ease the stress of funeral and other basic expenses his wife will incur during this difficult transition period.
Thank you, friends and family. We hope to see you at the service.
Sarah (Grant's little sister)
