Help Bring My Dad, Joe, Home for His Final Weeks

Hi, my name is Jodi, and I’m writing this with a heavy and breaking heart. My dad, Joe, has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, and the doctors have told us he only has 6–12 weeks left to live.

Dad’s one wish is simple but deeply meaningful — he wants to come home and spend his final days surrounded by family and the people who love him most, especially his grandchildren. They are his joy and his light, and being with them brings him peace and comfort.

To make this possible, we need to bring him home with the proper care and support. This means covering the costs of a hospital bed, home medical expenses , transportation to blood transfusion appointments. I’ll also need to take time off work to care for him full-time, but I don’t qualify for Employment Insurance, which makes things even harder financially.

Alongside these immediate needs, we also have to prepare for the inevitable — Dad’s funeral expenses — so that when the time comes, we can give him the dignity, respect, and love he deserves.

My dad, Joe, is the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. He’s worked hard his whole life and has always been there for his family and friends. Now it’s our turn to be there for him — and I’m reaching out for help to make that happen.
