On January 23rd, my 86-year-old grandfather, Bobby Charles Wilkerson, was diagnosed and hospitalized with covid-19, which led to pneumonia. He fought the virus for a month and a half before coming home and moving in with me on March 8th. After almost a month in my home, he was still unable to walk (his leg muscles deteriorated drastically during his ICU stay), and so I made the decision to send him to Binger Nursing Home and Rehab for 30-60 days for rehabilitation. After a few days there, he was hospitalized again with pneumonia, and then released from the hospital on antibiotics. He passed away in the nursing home yesterday on Saturday, April 10th, early in the morning. I am asking for donations, no matter how small, for his funeral expenses. For the package we have selected, it will cost the family over $7000. He does not have life insurance. We are working on coming up with the money ourselves, but it's a lot to scrounge up on short notice. Donations can be made by following this link, or directly to Turner Funeral Home in Hinton, Oklahoma. Just be sure to mention his name, Bobby Wilkerson.
I know times are hard right now. If you can't donate, if you could just share this, that would be incredibly helpful.
Thank you,
Michelle Wilkerson
