Grandpa Bob Remembrance Fun
Donation protected
Grandpa (Bob Float) dedicated his life to helping others: as a Marine, Entrepreneur, and Mentor of Children and Teens. His passing has left a void in our lives and our community that will be impossible to adequately fill. It has also left his family struggling under the burden of an overwhelming flood of medical and other bills, garnered over the past year and a half struggle to care for him. We ask for a little help, please contribute to our GoFundMe campaign. Your help is very much appreciated!
Grandpa has been a cornerstone in the community. Specifically his work over the last 20 years with the children and teens -- his PRIDE and JOY! He would share his stories and successes with anyone who would listen. How he loved his role as "Grandpa" to the children he mentored over the years. He impacted the life of hundreds of children/teens, and everyone of them was dearly loved.
When he first met a new child, Bob would introduce himself as Grandpa and let them know that his job was to HELP them, no matter the circumstances. You could walk into Grandpa's office at any time and he was always there to listen and steer you towards improvement. The accomplishments of these children were Bob's greatest pride! You never heard a Graduation Speech at Washburn Academy that didn’t include a 'Grandpa story', with extreme gratitude, admiration and love.
Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, he played a huge part in the renovations of Buffalo Org. He was a highly awarded FSM.
Bob moved to a Clearwater FL in 1978 and was one of a group of four whose role and responsibilities led to the establishment of the first WISE chapter and courses.
Before touching the lives of hundreds of children and young adults, Bob served as a Marine during the Vietnam War and married his sweetheart (Mary Float) in 1964. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary surrounded by 25 members of their family on June 27th of this year.
Bob lived an incredible life full of love, happiness and helping others, and was very active as Grandpa until the last year, when his health began to deteriorate. Over the last year and more, his family has spent every penny of savings and then some to do everything possible to extend his life .. . and make him comfortable. Now they need your help.
Grandpa was a man who enjoyed living life. When his body got to the point where he could no longer participate and enjoy life, he was ready to move on to his next adventure. We are all very glad to have had the time we have had with him in this life and wish him endless love for his next phase of life.
We are asking for donations to help the family during this time. The funds collected will go toward the cremation, services, medical treatments and medical supply fees and other expenses. Thank you.
