Steve doesn't know I am doing this, but this is a good dude who deserves it.
Steve is a Kung Fu grandmaster who is losing his studio in a few days. His studio, and Kung Fu, is his calling. It's his life. It's not a career, it's who he is. In 2018 America, it's not a calling that lines your pockets with money unfortunately.
I trained with him 15+ years ago, and for the last year he has been training my daughter. He is her only other true male role model, the only other man on the planet who I trust to teach her about life in a similar fashion to me. He has played a role in my daughter being the strong young woman that she is today.
She is fearless. She is tough. She is strong. She is caring. She is compassionate.
She is a warrior.
And I can thank Steve for playing an active role in making her that way.
Steve is a feminist. He believes that a woman's true role in life is to rule the world. He has helped me little girl realize how powerful and amazing she is, and that she can achieve ANY goal she sets for herself, even in a world dominated by a patriarchy. A patriarchy that she can smash.
He is a good man who is a little down on his luck right now. As the father of a young girl who I know can one day be a phenomenal leader, I will have him to thank for contributing to who she will become.
I am sad. I am sad for Steve. I am sad for my daughter. I am sad for all of the children who study under him. I can't really get into what happened, but it is sad to me when good people are taken advantage of...and I ask you, if you have anything to spare, to do so and I promise you it will go to a good person, a selfless person who cares more about teaching young boys and girls to be stellar human beings, than he does his own well being.
