Grandma Watson has terminal cancer and needs help!
Donazione protetta
Hi, I am writing on behalf of my good friends, the Watsons and the Sandlins. I have known the Watsons since I was a little girl (10 years old) back in Thousand Oaks, California. I was friends with their daughter Melanie, and Suzanne was my hair stylist when I got older.
Suzanne Watson, 81 years old, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, bone cancer, and Alzheimer's. She is not expected to live long, but she will need full-time care that their insurance does not cover:
- home nurses for a few hours a day to relief the family (Mike, Melanie, and Bill will be doing most of the care; Mike and Melanie work full time and have two special needs children to care for)
- bathroom renovation that includes medical grade grab bars
- gas for doctors' appointments
- pads for the bed
Suzanne and her husband Bill have been married for 58 years! Suzanne was a hair stylist for 55 years before she retired, and Bill was a physicist for 30 years. Prior to that, Bill was a Navy Seal (Team 12 @ Colorado Buds Class 31). They were active in their church for over 30 years in California (Bill was a deacon), and they have been at their current church for 16 years.
Suzanne and Bill have two children, Mike and Melanie. They have three grandchildren--Brandon, Riley, and Sydney. Riley and Sydney are both special needs children, which is a full-time job for their daughter Melanie. For those of you who know the backstory, Melanie adopted my niece Sydney when she was 8 years old. They have been a godsend in Sydney's life and have touched many young people in their lives.
Suzanne and Bill are active members of the community, and they have spent years taking care of children and grandchildren, including four foster children.
The family is devastated by this diagnosis and could use your help providing Suzanne with the support she needs in the coming months. Her children, who work full time and who have special needs children of their own, are doing everything that they can. Insurance will not cover everything, so we are asking for a small donation to help make Suzanne's life as comfortable and easy as possible.
Please feel free to contact me for more information.
Thank you.
