This is my mother, Galdina Vasquez. Nowadays, she is best known as Grandma. She is one of the most feisty, outspoken women, who stands up for what she believes in and won't let others tell her otherwise. She is full of energy and loves to dance. A little over a month ago, my mother was admitted to the hospital with a staph infection that spread to her lungs and heart, making it difficult to replace her heart valve. Three weeks into the antibiotic treatment, she was transferred into the ICU after suffering a severe stroke, leaving her paralyzed on her right side and minimal mobility to her left side. Her health is quickly deteriorating quickly. She no longer opens her bright green eyes anymore. Although the doctors are doing the best they can to keep the treatment going, they are not giving us much hope and preparing us for the worst.
