Grandma Barb’s Recovery

On December 19th, my Mom’s doctor called with her bloodwork results after a visit the day before for what we thought was another bad cold or flu. By 2pm she was being admitted to the ER with Pneumonia . 12 hours later, her lung had partially collapsed, and she was transferred to icu where her condition was deteriorating rapidly. The doctors had to take life saving measures, and as we waited for the antibiotics to kick in, we weren’t sure what the next day would bring...
After 8 days of being in the icu, my mom was finally showing signs of the infection clearing her lungs, and was breathing on her own again. She was transferred from icu to a regular room to start focusing on her recovery and get her strength back. We are forever grateful for the amazing doctors and nurses at UCLA Santa Monica, for saving her life.
As we begin to sort through medical bills and living expenses, we are asking for our family and friends to help rally behind my Mom and support her continued healing journey so that she can focus on getting better and not having to worry about financial burdens now. Anything you can contribute helps.
Thank You.
