Thanksgiving 2019 at Grandma and Grandpa’s house was one of the best, but unfortunately a few days later a pipe burst in their bedroom causing water damage and the discovery of asbestos in the same area which needs to be removed before the plumbing can be fixed. They have been doing an incredible job dealing with the insurance companies, the repairmen, moving all their belongings into the living room all while trying to figure out how to pay for it all.  My grandparent’s home has always been the destination for family from Texas, Southern California, and Fresno. I admire my grandparents who have always been there to support the Rodriguez, Castanon, Alcorta families; also friends from over the years, and any new friends they meet along the way. This Christmas may be put on hold considering because of the time and cost of repairing all the damage but we know it will be okay as long as we can bring some peace of mind and well wishes to the most important people in my and others’ lives.
