Grand Arts Fencing: 2017 Campaign
Donation protected
Thanks to the incredible extra-curricular commitment of LAUSD teacher Mr. Schiller, the Grand Arts fencing team has doubled in size. Which means we have to double up on the GoFundMe monies that were successfully raised last school year.
As of this fall, the team now has over 20 kids. Many of whom have never fenced before!

But many members must make do with old equipment left over from the 1984 Summer Olympics! Gloves have holes, reels are held together with gaffer tape and there are not enough uniforms for all the kids. The ones they do have are just... well let's just say a little dingy.
This is the ONLY fencing club across the entire Los Angeles Unified School District. The school board has cut sports funding and gives the team no money at all.
Our Winter 2017 goal is to fundraise another $2500 to buy 4 new fencing reels, new electrical cords, gloves and a new uniform for everyone. We will also use a portion of this second GoFundMe campaign to defray tournament fees and USA Fencing dues. If there is any extra money, some new swords, bags, masks and lames would be considered.
Mr. Schiller's passion and dedication to the sport are inspiring. All students are welcome on the team regardless of experience or circumstance. But... we need your help to keep building.
Thank you.
