Why not make backpacking easier and lighten the load we carry?

Hi, I'm Andrea and I want to tell you my story.

I'm from Puglia, but I've been living in Trento for six years for my studies. During a multi-stop trip back to Trento, I decided to stop in Salerno and immediately realized I never wanted to leave.

I spent many nights there and had many experiences, but the best ones were in the hostels. There, I met people from all over the world, heading to all kinds of destinations.

I thank everyone for their trust and advice... and I absolutely must track down Jared, the guy who had beer and melon for breakfast before a hike: we didn't exchange contact details, but thanks for the cookies! :)

I noticed something: many backpackers are either not equipped enough or carry too much stuff with them. When traveling, every gram counts. Furthermore, in many cities there are no shops where you can buy or rent specific equipment: of course, masks are easy to find, but fins, wetsuits, or other technical accessories are practically impossible to find.

I was very happy to help, in my own small way, travelers passing through: improving their experience and creating new connections gave me the idea to launch OgniGrammoConta.net (GramsMatter. the website is currently a prototype). A technical equipment rental project for travelers, designed to make all kinds of outdoor experiences more accessible, without weighing yourself down or spending too much.

Here are some examples of activities and equipment that I will be offering: water sports and coastal activities, trekking and hiking, urban backpacking, and light travel.

My mission is to recover, repair, and enhance second-hand equipment (often still intact) to reduce waste. I sewed the backpack you see in the photo myself: it looks like a potato sack, but it held up perfectly during the trip :)

Now I would like to learn more about the art of sewing, work with thicker fabrics, and set up a mini studio where I can work with technical equipment, and make my art available to everyone.

For the moment, I have decided to focus on three cities that are dear to me: Salerno, Ancona, and Otranto.

Thanks to local volunteers who will take care of distributing the equipment, every backpacker will be able to travel light, enjoy unique experiences, and at the same time support the local community of nature lovers.

Thank you for your support <3
