The Grains of Time are NC State’s premier all-male a cappella group on campus. Founded in 1968, we are also proud to be the oldest collegiate a cappella group in North Carolina. The Grains love to be a part of upholding the rich history and longstanding traditions of the group, while also pushing new creative boundaries as a student-led organization with their song choices, arrangements, and choreography.

This past year, the Department of Performing Arts at NC State cut all ties to the University's five A Cappella groups. This change means that we are now responsible for funding all of our activities. Each year, we are fortunate to put on Fall and Spring performances, compete in the ICCA championships, and record music. However, in light of DPAT's decision, coupled with rising costs, we are humbly asking for any donations. Every contribution, big or small, goes a long way to aid in funding our performances and next studio album.
