He's applied for disability and most of his medical care should be covered, but he has to make several trips to Indianapolis for doctor appointments and surgeries, in addition to driving to New Albany/Louisville regularly for bloodwork, dialysis followups, etc. He's likely to be on the waiting list for a couple of years before the actual surgery, and he won't be able to drive or do much for himself for a while after the surgery, so I anticipate needing to hire help when friends and family can't be there.

Other expected expenses include gas and accommodations when he has to go to Indy for several days of outpatient procedures, and any medical services that aren't covered by Medicare/Medicaid. I'm already paying his phone bill to make sure he's able to coordinate care and services.

I set this initial goal based on what other kidney transplant GoFundMes have raised not know if or when his disability SSI would be approved, but now that he's receiving payments, it's definitely not enough to cover all the travel, etc. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help him through this stressful process!
