Houston Relief - Graham Family

Elizabeth's recent Facebook posts read, "Seeing the details of your life trashed and on your driveway...I nursed two babies in that chair. That red couch was the first furniture Ben and I bought together. That antique Eames table has a partner that survived. All of it meant something."

"When I was prepping my home, I had a moment when I thought 'I feel like this is me walking through a memory of a home I no longer have.' I have accepted this is now true." 

Hurricane Harvey, an unprecedented 1000 year storm, decimated Houston, and as some of you may know, the Graham's home took on 2 + feet of water. Ben stayed behind to prepare the house, and was forced to wade seventeen blocks with their cat, his lap top, and only two changes of clothes before his friend could reach him. Elizabeth and the kids safely evacuated to her family's home in Lousiana. 

Most importantly they are all safe and sound. While they did have flood insurance, they did not have insurance for the contents of their home. They will need to replace all furniture- 5 beds/mattresses, living room furniture, bedroom dressers, rugs. As well, they will need to cover the costs of cleaning supplies and necessary repairs, and the costs incurred by being without a home for a bit.

Whether you a former student, family, friend, or simply a caring person, please consider helping out this wonderful family in their time of need.  Whatever amount you can contribute would be enormously appreciated and provide some relief in this difficult time.
