My sister Amanda and I have started this page to help our mother with the final expenses and incoming medical bills from our father's very unexpected death.
On Sunday, August 4th, Graham unexpectedly lost his life due to unforeseen complications. What most of you do not know is that our dad has been quietly fighting for his life for 2.5 years. It was just in his nature to be very private about his condition and never wanted anyone to worry. Our dad had been diagnosed with triple negative primary Myelofibrosis, a rare type of blood cancer that is chronic and progressive in nature. The time had come where Dad met all the criteria to receive a bone marrow transplant. This was going to be his miracle, THE CURE! On Friday, July 26th, his nurse told him, "Today is your birthday!" as they hung the bags of fresh stem cells flown in from his donor in Europe. He was doing well, all things considered, and remained optimistic about getting back to "himself". On Sunday, August 4th, our mom received "THE CALL". She just couldn't believe what the doctor was telling her. How could this be? She was just there yesterday with him. He had so much more life to live, and love to give. To say this was an unexpected complication is a true understatement.
My sister and I would like to thank everyone in advance for any and all contributions made to this fund during this very stressful and emotional time, even if it's just sharing the link via social media or email to those who may not have social media. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
There will be a vigil starting at 2:30 on August 31st, at the La Purisima church, 213 West Olive Ave. Reception to follow at the parish hall.
All of our best, Misty & Amanda
