Six years....and still fighting.

Six years is how long The Simant's Family has fought this battle with Grady's tumors and his brain cancer.

Just a few weeks ago they did another MRI to track the progress of his tumors. What they found was growth in all of his tumors and a new spot on his spine that is of great concern. After many phone calls with oncologists, nurses, and radiation oncologists from several medical facilities across the United States they have decided to proceed forward with full brain and spine radiation again for Grady. Grady will stay on the clinical trial he is currently enrolled in with Children's Hospital of Georgia while also doing radiation in Omaha at Children's Hospital for 4 weeks. They hope, after the radiation and staying on the trial Grady will get a significant amount of progress and get the opportunity to be a 13 year old kid back in school, at home and with his friends and family.

The growing tumors are growing fast and with that he is beginning to show symptoms of that growth, so they must act fast. Next week they will travel to Omaha for his radiation simulation and placement of a new G-button. Then radiation will then begin on August 30th!!!

We are asking for help in assisting the family with the expenses they will entail the next month while Grady receives radiation. We would like to raise enough money to help the family cover these expenses; gas (they will be traveling home each weekend to see their second son Koby), groceries and food while in Omaha for 4 weeks, incidentals, loss of pay from missing 4 weeks of work etc. We want the strain of finances to be the least of their concerns.
