Somos un grupo de estudiantes que cursa el último grado del colegio secundaria en la institución Kusi Kawsay en Pisaq, Cusco - Perú. Kusi Kawsay es un colegio Andino enfocado en la revaloración de la cultura andina y el reconocimiento de la diversidad cultural de Perú cuyo enfoque principal son las personas y su dignidad. Algunos de nosotros estudiamos en el colegio gracias a una beca, ya que para el colegio es muy importante que el tipo de educación que brinda sea accesible para todos. Este año ha sido, como ya lo sabe, un año de muchos cambios que -en particular- han afectado nuestras dinámicas sociales porque aquí en Perú no vamos a la escuela desde marzo del año pasado.

 

 

Para finalizar el año tenemos la oportunidad de realizar el último viaje de estudios juntos como compañeros y compañeras de clase. Es un viaje de amistad y a su vez, un proyecto cultural que nos llevará a conocer la región de Ica en la costa peruana. Allí tendremos la oportunidad de visitar museos de las culturas Paracas y Nazca, así como sobrevolar y apreciar las famosas líneas de Nazca, visitar la reserva nacional de Paracas y las playas que la rodean. Desde hace tiempo hemos asumido la responsabilidad y estamos activos con la organización de nuestro viaje, buscando información, haciendo el itinerario y haciendo un presupuesto. Sentimos mucha emoción y entusiasmo por poder estar allá compartiendo y aprendiendo más de nuestro país y culturas.

 

 

Desde principios de este año, hemos estado trabajando para poder hacernos también responsables de los gastos que conlleva este proyecto y así, apoyar a nuestros papás y mamás en la consecución del objetivo. No todos nuestros padres están en la situación económica de poder apoyarnos económicamente, especialmente en estos tiempos difíciles. Por eso nosotros mismos nos hemos esforzado para ganar la mayor cantidad de dinero posible, trabajando los fines de semanas y las tardes después del horario de colegio cuando se pudo. Sin embargo, lamentablemente no hemos podido juntar todo el dinero que teníamos planificado por todas las limitaciones laborales que se han extendido en todo el país; consecuencia de la crisis sanitaria en la que vivimos.

 

 

Ya que el viaje es muy importante para nosotros, justo porque no nos hemos podido ver durante mucho tiempo y, ya que queremos terminar esta fase importante de nuestras vidas juntos, estamos buscando apoyo para cubrir lo que falta de nuestro presupuesto. El presupuesto total es de $ 3400.00/ € 2931.00 para diez personas. Con este presupuesto podemos viajar 8 días, pagar todos los costos de alojamiento, alimentos y las excursiones educativas. Hemos buscado las opciones más baratas y más seguras para viajar. De todo esto, hemos juntado hasta ahora $ 1400.00 / € 1207.00. Esto significa que nos queda un restante de $ 2000.00 / € 1724.00.

 

 

En resumen, esta carta tiene como objetivo pedirle que tenga a bien colaborar con este proyecto cultural y contar con su aporte económico. Cualquier cantidad nos ayudará a estar cada vez más cerca de nuestro objetivo como estudiantes. Un monto que para ustedes quizás no sea tan alto significa mucho para nosotros. Por supuesto, estaríamos muy felices de compartir nuestra experiencia en el viaje con ustedes, mandando un pequeño informe narrativo con fotos en el caso de que usted decida apoyarnos.

We hope this letter finds you in good health.

 

 

We are a group of students who are in the last grade of high school at the Kusi Kawsay school in Pisaq, Cusco - Peru. Kusi Kawsay is an Andean school focused on the revaluation of the Andean culture and the recognition of the cultural diversity of Peru, whose main focus is people and their dignity. Some of us study at school thanks to a scholarship, since it is very important for the school that the type of education it provides is accessible to all. This year has been, as you already know, a year of many changes that -in particular- have affected our social dynamics because here in Peru we have not gone to school since March of last year.

 

 

To end this year, we have the opportunity to make a last study trip together as classmates. It is a trip of friendship and -at the same time- a cultural project that will enable us to know the Ica region on the Peruvian coast. There we will have the opportunity to visit museums of the Paracas and Nazca cultures, as well as to fly over and appreciate the famous Nazca lines, visit the Paracas national reserve and the beaches that surround it. For the last months, we have assumed responsibility and we are active with the organization of our trip, looking for information, preparing the itinerary and the budget. We feel a lot of excitement and enthusiasm for the idea of being able to be sharing and learning more about our country and cultures.

 

 

Since the beginning of this year, we have been working so that we could also take responsibility for the expenses that this project entails and thus, support our mothers and fathers in achieving our goal. Not all of our parents are able to support us financially, especially in these difficult times. That is why we have strived to earn as much money as possible, working on weekends and afternoons after school, when possible. Unfortunately, however, we have not been able to raise all the money that we had planned, due to all the labour limitations that have spread throughout the country; consequence of the health crisis in which we live.

 

 

Since the trip is very important to us, precisely because we have not been able to see each other for a long time and, since we want to finish this important phase of our lives together, we are looking for support to cover what is missing from our budget. The total budget is $ 3400.00 / € 2931.00 for ten people. With this budget we can travel 8 days, pay all the costs of accommodation, food and the educational excursions. We have searched for the cheapest and safest options for our trip. From all this, so far we have raised $ 1400.00 / € 1207.00. This means that we are short $ 2000.00 / € 1724.00

 

In summary, this letter aims to ask you kindly to collaborate with this cultural project and help us out with a financial contribution. Any amount would help us get closer and closer to our goal as students. An amount that may not be so high for you, might mean a lot to us. Of course, we would be very happy to share our experience on the trip with you, sending a short narrative report with photos in case you would be so kind to decide to support us.
