Graduation to Grief

Just imagine graduating with honors one week and losing your mother the very next.

That is the heartbreaking reality for my niece. This beautiful, bright young woman had just celebrated two major milestones: prom and high school graduation with her biggest supporter, her mom. It had always been just the two of them. They shared everything, and her mother was her world.

Tragically, just days after graduation, her mother passed away unexpectedly. In the span of a week, my niece went from planning her future to having to face it without the person who meant everything to her.

Now, as she stands at the beginning of adulthood, she’s faced with unimaginable grief and overwhelming uncertainty. While nothing can replace her mother, we are asking for help to ensure that this devastating loss does not derail the future she has worked so hard for.

Funds raised will go directly toward helping her with basic needs, mental health support, educational expenses, and to help provide some stability as she adjusts to this new chapter in life, all without the one person she thought would always be by her side.
