Crowdfunding for ,The Last Meal‘
Donation protected
I'm Marie-Lou Sauter, aka LØU , a music performance artist and producer on the brink of an exciting milestone: my very first music theater show!
"The Last Meal" - a music & theater piece with a three-dimensional visuals, crafted alongside my talented friend Wangxoo .
The show will happen June 20th, at the former Pieter Baan Centrum, a place steeped in history as a forensic prison institution. It's an unconventional setting for an unconventional show.
"The Last Meal" is my first dive into merging education with musical, theatrical, and visual entertainment. But I can't do it alone. I'm proud to lead a diverse team of passionate individuals: 11 actors and musicians, 3 producers, a visual artist, a light engineer, a sound engineer, a videographer, many volunteers, technicians and performance coaches!
Here's the deal: I need your help to make it happen. Your support will go towards:
- securing the venue & staff
- fair compensation for the team,
- marketing and advertising efforts to ensure a full house
- essential equipment rental
- transportation
- capturing the magic from rehearsal to show on film for future collaborations as I set my foot into the working field.
Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to realizing this ambitious project. <3
With love and gratitude,
Marie-Lou Sauter (LØU)
About the show:
,,Hope dies last’’ but what comes right before? - The Last Meal is an audio visual sonic journey that presents a metaphorical interpretation of the historic traditions of last meals before a condemned prisoner's execution.
It is a celebration of life, yet it confronts the harsh reality faced by many aspiring artists who find themselves prematurely forced to abandon their ambitions before getting a chance to be seen. The performance raises questions about hope in an uncertain time. Combining music & script by me (LØU) and three dimensional visuals by WANG XOO, it is a journey of confrontation, grief, and ambition, prompting reflection on our generation's future amidst diminishing resources and an uncertain economic system.
Scheduled for June 20th at the former Pieter Baan Centrum in Utrecht, a former forensic prison provided by Uncloud Stichting, the show merges history and remarkable architecture to amplify its message. It invites the audience to confront mental imprisonment and introspection, embracing all emotions for personal and societal growth.
