Graduation Gift for Bela

Donation protected
Anybody who knows me or follows me on social media knows that I am incredibly proud of my firstborn kiddo. She has worked so hard her entire school career and has accomplished so many amazing things, including getting into her dream school, Vassar, with a fully funded aid package. She's also been a Questbridge College Prep Scholar and National College Match Finalist, an enthusiastically involved member of the speech & debate team, GSA president, Beta Club treasurer, Ethics Bowl and Odyssey of the Mind team member. Optimist Club Student of the Month, etc. You get the point. She's awesome!

She hopes to major in either Urban Studies or Philosophy at Vassar, then go on to law school to become a labor lawyer. She's tough, smart, funny, empathetic, stubborn, meticulous, loving, artsy, and a joy to be around. We are endlessly proud to be her parents and can't wait to see what she'll do once she's out in the world.

But of course this year's senior class has taken a particularly hard hit. All the ceremonial, sentimental end-of-the-year events have been wiped out, replaced with uncertainty. No opportunities to spend those last moments with friends she's been with for years, or with teachers who have nurtured her well and challenged her intellect. It sucks. B is taking it incredibly well, but still, it sucks.

Anyway! All this to say that my kid is amazing and we are absolutely dirt poor and I would love nothing more than to give her the one thing she's asked for as a graduation gift - a Macbook Pro. Something that'd be useful to her at the moment as well as throughout her college career. That's where this comes in.

I know there are people who may have wanted to send her a graduation gift - this is an opportunity for you wonderful folks to chip in and help her get something she really wants. And anybody else who would like to make a very deserving member of the class of 2020 very, very happy is also welcome to donate. There's no way I can get her a laptop on my own, but I do have a generous, loving, and large circle of friends, all of whom have seen me gush with delight about my girl for the past 18 years, so you know how much it would mean to be to be able to make this happen.

Thank you! I love you!
