Graduation! A BIOCHEMIST! A long road with Autism
Donation protected
My name is Stefan and I am autistic.
This month, after 20 long years of school I will graduate from Southern Oregon University with a B.Sc. in Biochemistry.
I do not like the idea of asking for money but people have suggested that I do this because I don't really need any "graduation gifts". I just want to travel for a while now that I am not studying all the time.
Many people didn't think I would amount to much when I was younger because of my autism and they had this irritating perception that I would never be independent. Well, I have gone further than expected in my education and now I would like to work further my independence by navigating countries new to me and by experiencing other cultures.
Travel is not completely new to me. I have traveled alone and with my family before, but only to places that are easy to navigate. I would like to get off the beaten path a bit now and see what I am capable of.
I have been learning Spanish so I would like to travel maybe to Spain or South America before I enter the workplace. I would like to experience other cultures and maybe improve my Spanish.
You do not have to donate anything but if you choose to do so it would be greatly appreciated.
Once I return I hope to get a job in medicine in order to help people with genetic based disorders like Alzheimers Disease, clinical depression, Parkinsons disease and arthirtis.
Thank You
PS. I have included a video I made in high school. I presented it to my health class hoping that it would help people understand me better.
