Graduates in Film is a newly launched C.I.C., focused on helping graduates find work and connect with people in the creative industries. We will be doing this through workshops, networking events, film festivals, and by creating our own projects that graduates will have the opportunity to work on; from production to post to marketing, we want graduates to be at every stage of development.

This GoFundMe is to help us raise the costs we need to start making our hopes a reality. Already we have worked on one independent project and are in talks to begin workshops with various established companies who are interested in our cause. Money raised through this fundraiser will go to covering administrative fees and recurring costs such as our website, insurance etc so we can keep our business present in the public eye. Fees will also go to costs that come with establishing a film festival and getting better venues for our workshops so they can be held in places like Soho, where the real industry action is.

Our organisation was started by three graduates and an editor who has worked a lifetime in the industry, now turned lecturer who spends most of his time helping students build their skills during their studies. We all believe that once those studies are complete, there should be more programmes in place to help students enter the industry.

There is a very negative stigma around arts degrees, especially film, and we want to prove that the skills students learn from university are valuable and can lead to lifelong careers.
