Hello All,
My name is Ati'yah Cash and I am an aspiring mental health therapist. While this career of choice has not been the easiest to arrive too, I've always known I wanted to make a life out of helping others. It has always been my dream to provide a holistic form of care to the community, specifically black and brown communities. About two years ago, I took a leap of faith to pursue my purpose in this life. I enrolled in the Masters of Counseling Program at Eastern Mennonite University. While enrolled in the program, I have faced many hardships both personally and professionally. I have reached a point in my career where I need additional assistance in order to keep moving forward. Over the course of my educational career, I have earned scholarships and awards to support my successes as a student. However, due to previous loans from undergrad, my options in receiving additional tuition assistance are limited.
Earning this degree will allow me to increase the representation of mental health therapists in the BIPOC community. I think it is important that everyone can benefit from having service providers who look like them across the board.
Thank you for taking the time to read a part of my story.
Take Care
