Gracie's Farmstead is a small local business based out of Crestone, Colorado. I first visited Crestone in the summer of 2015 and fell in love with the beauty and spirituality of the area! In January of 2016 (New Years Eve in fact! ) I decided to move there and see if I could make a go of it with a business. I started baking organic, completely from scratch desserts and at first sold them wholesale to businesses in town. When that did not work out as well as I had hoped I began to sell my goods directly to the locals and tourists from a booth I set up outside of our Welcome Kiosk. Things really took off and I have developed a very loyal following!
In June I was able to hire 1 employee - Laura who is awesome! We set up our booth 2-4 days a week offering a selection of goodies I bake fresh every morning such as muffins, eclairs, fresh fruit mini pies and tarts, mini quiche, mini cheesecakes, scones, assorted cookies and bars and more! We also offer organic french pressed coffee, iced dirty chai , hot tea and an assortment of seasonal drinks. Everything has been very well received and I am so grateful for the support of the community. Not only do I get to enjoy one of my passions- baking, but I get rewarded everytime I see a happy smile on a customers face, see a returning customer or see the look of wonder on a tourists face when they see the variety of what we have to offer! They even take pictures and send them out to friends!
Well the opportunity has arrived to move my little bakery booth at the kiosk into a brick & mortar building in town! If I can make this new dream come true I would be expanding my current offerings into a full scale bakery with a larger selection of pastries, specialty cakes and fresh baked breads! We will also have a daily changing menu of breakfast and lunch items for customers to dine in. In addition we will offer dinner on Friday & Saturday night along with brunch on Sunday. A small flower and gift shop will reside in the side retail shop.
I am hoping to raise $10,000 to help cover start up costs in the new location which would include rent deposits, licensing fees and some equipment. Receive perks for your contribution, I have created rewards for various levels of donations!
