Hello. I am Grace’s Nennah (grandmother) Grace is 11 years old. She wasn’t feeling well on Saturday, and became really sick Sunday night/Monday morning. When they took her to the ER she was diagnosed with diabetic keto acidosis, her sugar was over 600. They airlifted her to Springfield’s Mercy Hospital. There she also tested positive for Covid. She took a turn for the worse when her kidneys were shutting down. At that time she was airlifted to St. Louis Children’s Hospital in critical condition. Then through a scan they realized that her colon/intestines looked dead. They thought they only saw 10 centimeters that they thought could be saved. They went ahead and did exploratory surgery and was able to save 1/3 of them. They were also concerned that she had a brain herniation. Through further examination they didn’t find any herniation, but her brain is pretty swollen. She is still sedated and on a ventilator. Those are the main highlights of what she’s going through. She is still in critical condition. We are hoping for a miracle. We are seeking help for meals, transportation, and other expenses since it looks like she may be here for a while. We believe in God’s grace and miracles. We appreciate your support
