Gracie's Light

Donation protected
Gracie Larson’s Light continues to shine through the ebbs and flows of her disabilities and illnesses. This child’s light pierces hearts with hope and joy, from her fiercest advocates--her family--to the nurses and doctors who have stoically battled by her side to extend her life, so that Gracie’s Light spreads seeds of hope and joy.

Gracie’s Light reflects the promise and courage, the strength and unabashed faith, and the humility and simplicity of this child’s innocent and pure brave heart. She is tiny, and oh so mighty.

But even superheroes need friends to help along the way.

Gracie Larson is fifteen years old. She was born in Bismarck, North Dakota, baptized immediately in the hospital, and air-lifted to Minneapolis Children’s Hospital, where she would spend the first nine months of her life needing emergency care for a heart defect, spinal cord anomaly, Down syndrome, and a host of other birth abnormalities. Doctors and specialists with fancy titles and trainings did not expect Gracie to live.

This child’s light has flickered through fifteen years of hospitalizations, life-saving surgeries, and medical interventions just to breath and live. As a quadriplegic, Gracie’s Light continues to twinkle and defy any of the scientific and statistical odds that have threatened to dim her spirit.

Gracie is a miracle and continues to astound medical teams around the world with her sheer will to live. To simply breathe. To shine.

Gracie and her family need our help now. On January 14, 2021, Gracie’s neurosurgical medical team will perform another life-saving and complicated ten-hour operation. Gracie is expected to be hospitalized for several months in Minneapolis Children’s Hospital. She will be returning home with a tracheotomy in order to breathe, and will require an in home nursing team to care for her.

Gracie’s parents, Dennis and Laura, continue to watch her—in absolute awe and wonder—as they navigate raising two other daughters, Alyssa (18) and Ainsley (8). Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the family will be separated while Gracie is in the hospital, compounding the emotional load. The financial burden of medical costs and lost wages for this pro-longed hospitalization and recovery weigh heavily on this family.

The Larsons are warriors. All of them. Please consider gifting this family with your prayers, and if you are able, please make a charitable donation to defray the stress and worry of the mounting financial drain. Please help Gracie’s Light continue to penetrate hearts with hope and joy.

All proceeds from Gracie’s Light will go directly to the Larson family to help pay for the financial burden of this lengthly hospitalization.
