On June 18, 2019, our little Gracie lost her battle to Alagille syndrome. Our precious girl was only 8 years old.
Alagille syndrome is a genetic disorder that causes destruction of the bile ducts. It can also cause liver disease, which was the case for our Gracie. It often affects other major organs in the body, including the heart, eyes, kidneys and spine.
Gracie had been in UCLA Children’s Hospital since Easter. It seemed as though her condition was getting better. But unfortunately, her condition worsened and she was put into an induced acoma. Our family was so scared, but we remained hopeful. Shortly after the Lord took her to be with Him.
She was always a happy, sweet and loving little girl always smiling and showing Us to be strong. Our hearts are heavy and broken. We are asking for help to cover funeral costs. Any donation of any amount is greatly appreciated. With much love and thanks the Ortega Family
