Gracie and Theresa

Hi, my name is Ericka and I am fundraising for my daughter's sweet friend Gracie. Gracie was adopted and raised by her grandparents since she was 2 years old. Their daughter, her birth mother, was unfortunately unable to take care of her. Sadly, her birth mom suddenly passed away in 2020, and the family has been grieving that loss. Her grandfather, Larry, whom she calls Dad, has been working full time, raising Gracie, and caring for his wife, Theresa, who has many health problems.

On August 8th, Larry 75, was rushed to the hospital with stomach pains and tragically and suddenly passed away due to a stomach aneurysm that burst in the ER. Gracie and Theresa are not only grieving from Larry's sudden death, but they are in immediate financial need.

Gracie started her Senior year only two days after Larry passed away. Gracie's car broke down last week, and a family friend who is a mechanic is trying to help repair it at his cost. But they still do not know how they will pay for the repairs. Theresa has survived a heart attack, has an autoimmune disorder, lung issues, is on oxygen full-time, does not drive, and can not work. Larry's work check and social security paid for Theresa's medications, the mortgage, utilities, insurances and all living expenses. Gracie goes to high school full-time and works part-time; this is the only income they have besides Theresa's social security. Unfortunately, they had to let his life insurance lapse due to financial hardship in 2020.

Please consider making a donation to help Gracie and Theresa stay in their home, pay for Larry's funeral expenses, provide food on the table and help Gracie graduate high school. All money raised will go directly to keeping a roof over their head, paying for Theresa's medications and insurance, and repairing Gracie's car so she can keep her part-time job. Theresa and Larry made many sacrifices and have had to make difficult decisions when it came to adopting their granddaughter (Gracie) from their daughter. But the one thing they never questioned is how much they love Gracie and want to provide her with every opportunity to succeed. Please, help them get back on their feet and help Gracie graduate and get a good start on life.
