My name is Gracie Swink and I am a high school senior at Cannon School. For my senior Capstone project, I wanted to work on something that really was meaningful to me. While searching for a senior project, I thought of so many great causes to work for but I always felt like there was something else I was meant to do. I wanted to make my senior project personal, so I looked at what had happened in my life that had really impacted me.

The first thing I thought of was Teens Camping Tour of The West. This past summer, I embarked on a twenty three day journey from Statesville, North Carolina to California and back with the most authentic fifty one people I had ever meet. On this journey, I travelled to twenty five different states. Although I left behind my cell phone, shower, and bed, I gained so many worthwhile lessons and memories. I returned with a sense of adventure, an appreciation for my country, relationships that will last a lifetime, the knowledge and appreciation of a true conversation (in person, not over text), a sense of what is good, and memories that will continue to make me smile and motivate me to better this world.

I had the time of my life on TCTW, and for my Capstone project I want to share this experience with someone else. The money you donate here will go directly towards sponsoring a teen that cannot afford it to go out West this summer. My goal of $3,000 would provide this teen with the experience of  participating in Teens Camping Tour of The West as well as $300 to buy the essentials for this trip.
