Grace’s Theta Chi Fundraiser
Tax deductible
Hi! My name is Grace and I am currently a freshman at the University of Washington and a proud member of my sorority, Alpha Chi Omega. I am a business student at the Michael G. Foster School of Business where I am pursuing a major in Business Administration with a focus in Finance.
I could not be more excited to compete for the title of Theta Chi’s Dream Girl. In doing so, I am raising money for their philanthropy, the Kyle Charvat Foundation. All funds and donations will be given to the Foundation for the use of providing financial assistance to young adults diagnosed with any form of life-threatening cancer. My goal is to raise $2,000 by April 25th.
Young adults generally do not have adequate financial resources to afford high medical bills. Most charitable organizations target young children, and this leaves young adults in a somewhat anonymous group. For those that suffer a catastrophic medical condition requiring medical care beyond what insurance will provide, there is often nowhere to turn to fund medical treatment. The mission of the Kyle Charvat Foundation is to lend a helping hand to those unfortunate young adults.
Kyle Charvat was a member of Theta Chi when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2006. Kyle’s brothers at Theta Chi teamed up to raise $100k to cover his experimental treatment when his insurance refused to cover the costs.
I am running for Theta Chi Dream Girl to help people like Kyle who have nowhere to turn in the face of medical hardship. I am extremely honored to support this Foundation and represent my sorority in its efforts to raise money for young adults struggling with cancer.
