The first day I met Grace, I was immediately drawn to her strength and quiet determination. She was fierce yet gentle — someone whose resilience and calm presence left a lasting impression.

In the past three years of living with Grace as my roommate, I’ve seen her navigate life’s challenges with incredible courage. She completed her studies and began working — even though the job wasn’t in her professional field — with the same dedication and humility she brings to everything she does.

On the morning of October 30th, Grace was on her way to work when she was struck by a car at a pedestrian crossing. The accident left her with severe spinal injuries that required emergency surgery. She is now recovering in the hospital, beginning what will be a long and difficult rehabilitation journey.

Being far from home, Grace has no family here. Her parents and younger sister are in India — worried, heartbroken, and praying for her recovery from afar. Despite the pain and uncertainty, Grace’s spirit remains unbroken. Each day, she faces her challenges with quiet courage and gratitude, determined to walk again and rebuild her life.

As an international student who recently graduated, Grace currently has no medical insurance. This has made the situation even more difficult, as she faces significant out-of-pocket expenses for her ongoing rehabilitation and physiotherapy, along with student loans from her education.

The road ahead involves intensive medical care, physiotherapy, and months of recovery, along with time away from work. To help ease the financial burden, I have created this fundraiser to support Grace through her healing journey.
