Doing it for Riley

Donation protected
On the 5 of august 2017 my brother 13 yr old Riley received a tackle on the footy field, little did we no that it would be his last. The result of the tackle left him with a dissection of the left inter cranial corotid artery which then resulted in him having a stroke. Riley was flown from john hunter hospital 4 days later to RPA in Sydney for an angiogram and later transferred him to Randwick children's hospital where they performed a craniectomy ( removal of his skull) to allow his brain to swell, and give him the best chance. Straight after surgery Riley had a bleed and was taken straight back to theatre to stop the bleeding.Riley spent 8 days in icu being monitored closely for further bleeding.when transferred to the ward he began his physio to move his right side, Riley can only walk assisted by 2 people and an ankle brace, his right arm and hand is yet to move and is transferred by wheel chair, can only put 2-3 words together and his mental state has declined and is now on anti depressants he has a very long road to recovery, he has been discharged from hospital after 3 mths and is awaiting a surgery date for his bone flap to be replaced which his surgeons have said sometime towards the end of the year. Riley is needing a certain amount of equipment for home use and also needing physio. To be able to support him at home any help would be very much appreciated as my mum is also off work. Thank you very much for reading.
