Grace's Epilepsy Service Dog
Donation protected
We are unaware of exactly when Grace's seizures started, but August 23, 2013 will always be etched in our minds. Nathan and Grace were on a daddy/daughter date at the fair, but they never made it inside. Grace suffered a grand mal seizure in the parking lot and was rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
In the weeks that followed, we learned that Grace was having hundreds of seizures a day and was diagnosed with generalized epilepsy. She continues to have "break through" seizures daily that the medication has been unable to stop. Grace has absence seizures (petite mal), myo clonic seizures, and grand mal seizures.
A huge trigger for her seizures stems from her anxiety disorders, as well as stress, heat, and light sensitivities.
After years of research and months of training, Grace is ready for her service dog to help in her fight with Epilepsy, be a faithful companion, aide with her anxiety, and give her more independence. We are teaming up with the wonderful organization Joys of Living Assistance Dogs to find this perfect assistant for her.
