Grace's Transition and Botanika

Any story told about a life leaves so much that can't be said. But I have to start somewhere, so I will say that among other things, I am a formulator and aromatherapist who works with herbs, oils, essential oils and targeted natural bio-actives to create remedies for healing many different conditions. The closure/resale of the shop where I have worked and developed many of my formulas has terminated my time there. This represents about 85% of my income. Yes, it is a scary time for my planetary existence on so many levels. But it is also an exciting time of fresh opportunities for living yet more integrally than before.

In the midst of this, business opportunities have presented themselves. And I dare to consider them despite my rather dire circumstances. I am in communication with the merchandising manager in the new branch of our successful local health co-op, Briar Patch, which carries my Egyptian Grace skin care products. The new store is opening up in nearby Auburn. Beyond this, I have other promising leads for offering my formulas to a wider audience in bulk form.

With eighty-five percent of my income lost, expansion is simply not possible. I plan to collect my Social Security, which does not even cover my rent, but with unemployment, Cal Fresh, and ongoing sales of my products online and through the local shops that carry them, I hope to cover my very basic living expenses. This does not give me the income to take advantage of the opportunities before me. But I am no stranger to miracles. The beauty of a challenging life is that it can open one up to the possibility of the miraculous.

Here's the heart of the matter. I wish to continue providing my formulations to those who need them – people with such ailments as neuropathy, anxiety, eczema, stomach issues, inflammation, psoriasis, arthritis, depression, insomnia, and even skin cancer. I am raising funds to purchase ingredients so that I may continue this vital work even as I transition into a new situation. I have a sound reason for wanting to continue to provide these products. It is well illustrated in what I heard about a favorite client of mine through a mutual friend. Following B's knee surgery nothing prescribed helped the pain, and she has had bad reactions to a lot of the meds tried. However, she has been using the special pain cream I gave her, and while it doesn’t take the pain away completely, definitely mitigates it as nothing else has. Having heard this, the next batch will be made even stronger - that is if I can purchase the necessary items.

I just celebrated my 67th birthday. My life has gifted me with skills that are useful in helping others to heal. I wish this work, this calling, to be a full-time occupation, along with offering consultation and education in my specialized areas of expertise. To continue to provide the remedies I need the materials. These include herbal infusions and extractions, essential oils, specialty carrier oils, herbs for macerations, and bio-actives. And for the ongoing sales of products, there is of course the packaging. I also need a Vitamix to be used for making the creams and body butter I offer, as my aging hand finds working with the hand mixer painful. This need for something more robust will be increased (soon I hope!) to facilitate the making of bulk formulations, which is my goal.

I have lived a life dedicated to the refinement and development of inner and outer skills that, to my calling, can serve a greater good. I hope to continue growing my work and business. But I need an infusion of help at this juncture. Your support would mean a lot to me. I understand these are pressing times. I hope your prosperity is such that you can even consider contributing.
