My name is Grace. I was the car to go completely under on North Holly road Saturday April 4th. This has traumatized me. I had drove through the flooded area a few hours prior with no issues. I went back through for the last time around 8:45pm. It was very dark, there was no visible signs of the road being closed and hadn't rained for over an hour. At this point I thought the water must have gone down from the time before. I made it to about the middle of the water, still on the pavement when my car stopped. I immediately put my windows down and called 911. I wasn't going to make it acrossed the road and needed a tow. While I was waiting on the phone with 911 other vehicles continued to go around me, pushing my car off the road into the ditch. I barely got myself out before my car went completely under I climbed out my passenger window while water poured in. I was stranded, wet on the roof of my car while it rocked back and forth from people continuing through the water. I was screaming, begging them to stop driving through, waving my hands, all while on the phone with MSP. All I could think about was my children. Rescue teams arrived but no one exited their vehicle to help. The father of my children had also showed up and decided to jump in and help me since rescue didnt move fast enough. The water was over my head and freezing cold. Thankful my children were not with me as I wouldn't have been able to save them in time.

What I'm asking is huge. I'm a prideful person. I work hard. I'm a good mom. My 13 year relationship with their father has ended recently, I'm hurt and heartbroken. I lost my job in November. I also do seasonal asphalt work but that does not start for a few more weeks. I had to cancel my car insurance a few months ago from the chain of events. I couldn't afford it til I got back to work. I've been using the car to door dash for time being to support my family. It's the only income I had. I have 4 children, 2 girls, 11 and almost 2, and twin boys that are 3. I also support my mother. I drive my daughter from Holly to lake fenton each day for school. I still owe 20,000 on my car. Byers towing is charging 2500 for water recovery even tho they completely damaged my car even more than what the water damage is along with charging another 225 for the tow. We get by day to day right now. I have no car, little food,an outstanding debt that I feel could've have been saved if the proper signage and road blockade was visible. I'm at a loss. I've never been at such a low point in my life. I desperately need a blessing right now.
