Hope all of you are well. I am reaching out because I recently experienced a car accident this past Thursday. I was rear-ended to the rail and am experiencing chronic back and shoulder pain and mild post-traumatic stress disorder. For those that know me, know that I have been fundraising to keep my car for awhile now due to modes of unemployment and temporary employment. I have my car, I am just behind one payment and now my car's rear is completely wrecked and I have no idea how to pay for it. My insurance company can only possibly cover $5,000 in damage while the estimated cost is nearly $8,000 plus the $500 deductible. Which breaks down to: $3,500 (Car repairs) + $500 (Car payment) = $4,000.
I am unemployed at the moment and have no idea how I am going to come up with this amount of money in the next month or so, which is why I am reaching out to all of you. I've been having trouble feeding myself lately and considering these costs, I have no idea how I will survive. I'm really dependent on my car (to get to job interviews, internships, temporary employment, etc.) and the city I live in is not public transportation-friendly, so I would greatly appreciate your support if possible.
