Grace MacDonald Accident Recovery Fund
Donation protected
On June 29, my niece Grace MacDonald was in a car accident in Toney River, Nova Scotia. She was coming home from lobster fishing and was tired so she took her seatbelt off and laid down in the backseat to rest. They hit some loose gravel, spun out of control and Grace was thrown from the car. She was air lifted to Halifax and remains in the ICU with a brain injury.
I'd love to give more details at this time but all I can definitively say is that she has a brain injury and is now moving her limbs and has shown some response to stimulus.
Grace is truly one of the kindest, most caring people I know. She wouldn't want people to be worrying about her. But she is also strong and tough and determined. She's a fighter and she's starting showing us that's she's fighting.
I'm not sure exactly her recovery will look like but it will take months to get our fighter back to being herself. In the meantime, her family needs to be closer to her in Halifax. And while Grace is recovering she'll need help with covering costs for physiotheraphy etc.
I'd like to be able to write something more eloquent but for now this is all I have. I'll add updates as we have them. Grace has so many wonderful people around her sending her love; recovery will be slow, but she'll get there.
Please keep her in your thoughts,
Grace's aunt Cindy
