Grace Lynn was born on 12/20/23 at 10:57 pm by C-Section. At 33 weeks and 4 pounds and 15 oz., Grace Lynn was born prematurely.
A C-Section was necessary to save her life as she was born with an infection. Grace is a beautiful baby girl with many medical issues in her young life.
Spending her first days in NICU, a BiPAP machine was needed due to respiratory distress to help her breath and a tube for drainage. Doctors are concerned for blockages in her intestines and any future problems that may become apparent as she grows.
On December 26th Grace Lynn had her first of many surgeries to correct her intestines and connect two parts that were not functioning correctly. On December 29th she was stable. The doctors advised that they had to wait 8-10 days to see if the bowels were working properly on their own.
By December 31st it appeared that everything was working and the doctors were waiting to see if it would continue. At this point Grace weighed 5 lbs.
January 12, 2024 Grace was back in surgery to explore her intestine problems again. Surgery went well and were hopeful that it was repaired. By January 15, 2024 Grace’s bowels were working properly; but it was necessary to continue with a tube for drainage from her stomach.
January 26, 2024 Intestinal problems reappeared so X-rays and a dye test was necessary to check for a blockage. She continues to be in NICU.
Grace Lynn’s mom and dad are loving parents who are constantly by her side through all of this. Her mother has been without her job since before Grace’s delivery and cannot return to her job until at least February 14th due to complications with the delivery.
Her dad has continued to work but his income doesn’t cover all of the rent and utilities. Living expenses are mounting up along with medical, which causes much stress on this family. They have not been given any idea of how much longer Grace Lynn will be hospitalized.
When she comes home, she may need special attention as it is unknown whether or not her intestines will function properly.
Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers and if you can please consider donating to help cover this family’s medical and living expenses.
Thank you so much. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
