Please help Grace have her knee repaired.

For the past few years it has been Grace's dream to go to America to study and play football. She has worked really hard academically and on the pitch and managed to secure a full scholarship to live out her dream in Nebraska.

Sadly on her last game for her home club (which was her 18th birthday!) she sustained an injury, we weren't fully aware of the extent of this until she flew to Nebraska 4 days later. It turned out Grace had fully torn her ACL, damaged her meniscus and also fractured her knee. This was following an MRI scan.

Grace found out she needed surgery and was going to pursue this in the states however her medical insurance declined any care due to the injury occurring in the UK. Costings in America were going to be in excess of $50k and we were unable to raise that amount!

Grace's only option is to return home to the UK for surgery, however due to the restrictions of her student visa she is only allowed home for up to 4 weeks and if any more her visa would be terminated and her scholarship would be revoked.

Grace has had a consultation with a surgeon in the UK and has been booked in for her operation on September 19th, this is via a private hospital as NHS waiting lists would not allow for the timescale required. If Grace does not have her knee repaired by the end of September she would miss a further season of football due to the 9months plus recovery time!!

As a family we have pulled together to support Grace to fund this however costs are rapidly increasing and flights alone are over £1200! Her surgery just short of £10k!! Lots of people have suggested setting up one of these pages, I was initially reluctant however we would all very grateful for any contribution that may help to make this stressful time a little easier!
