Grace Family Needs Your Help Amid ALS Fight
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Wendy Grace. I am a 38-year-old mother of 3. I am new to this, so here it goes. I have recently been diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) or Lou Gehrig's disease. My kids and I have been living with my brother and were supposed to move into a new house, but life had other plans for us. First, the person I was buying the house from figured with my new diagnosis I would not be able to afford my payments, so he would not sell me the house. Unfortunately, getting tested and starting the care I will need has taken everything from our house fund and more. I have been in the hospital for 2 weeks now, and being unable to work or save money has been hard. My 16-year-old daughter is my caregiver currently. I need help to get the care I need and my kids need. My brother helps where he can, but he has a family of his own.
I have been a very hard-working and independent person most of my life. This is one of the hardest things to ask for help. It has been hard coming to accept that I cannot work anymore and that my oldest child is taking care of me, not me taking care of them. Before my time on this earth is over, I want my children to have a home. I want to leave them with memories of more than me being sick. If writing this will help with that, then I humbly ask and thank everyone who does.
